Oh dear me. On a scale of 1 to 100, how likely do you think it is that the world will end on 21st December? A few people might be quaking in their bones, apoplectic with fear or surrender (100). Others will be so unworried that it won’t even cross their mind until the 22nd December. They’ll blank out the possibility even if Armageddon is happening all around them (0). I know people like that.
Most people will be wavering about somewhere in between when they think about the possibility – there’s a small rush of adrenalin in the solar plexus quickly followed by the brain kicking in and telling us that we’ll all still be here this time next year, most of us a lot poorer of course while the rich protect their riches. But we’ll nevertheless be here. We hope.
We’ve all heard about Nostradamus and his predictions for 2012 – and also fact that December 21st marks the end of the Mayan calendar. I do believe this moment could mark the end of the world, as we know it. The Mayans predicted that something huge and tumultuous will happen – a comet or an asteroid perhaps – or Planet X, as it’s known, getting too close as it apparently has several times before at times in the past when the world changed massively. Some people think that we are due for a huge and cataclysmic solar flare. That would do it.
We don’t hear so often about the Hopi and their prophecies about the same day. Part of the Hopi prophesy predicted that, one day, man would travel to the moon and bring back something, a rock perhaps and from that moment the world would enter a state of imbalance. There would be acceleration in floods and earthquakes, droughts and great storms. It appears to have happened. They also spoke of seven signs that would lead up to the main event of this huge change on the earth. We’re at the end of all seven warnings. So the Hopi, on their reservation in Arizona, are ready for the end of the world. They think there will be a period of time or just one day ‘of purification’ and describe which seems to imply a huge combination of weather, earthquakes and/or bombs. Oh dear.
So the end of the world as we know it could be about to happen. But that’s obvious anyway. What the hell is going on? If, at the very least, our structures collapse – as it seems they might – this could result in a massive rethink about how we function as people who live together on this beautiful, abundant planet. There are plenty of us who could give all sorts of ideas and advice if they ever let us – if the kind of ‘leaders’ we’re used to were capable of admitting that the old structures, usually based on old, old values, prejudice, fear and hate are outmoded and not getting us anywhere.
“Er, we can’t cope. What do you suggest we do, oh Alternative Ones?”
Right. Very likely. But, however unlikely this is, humanity can’t blunder on the way we are doing much longer, fulfilled prophecies or not.
Astrologically, the 21st December at 11.11 GMT exactly, is extremely interesting. In brief: Every 25,000 years, give or take, we, on earth, take our place in a rare planetary line up with the centre of the galaxy. There was a significant line up of planets in 1999. December 21st sees us in an even tighter and more significant one. Since June 2011, there have been various hugely significant hard aspects coming and going between Uranus and Pluto. These two don’t stop sparring with each other until 2016. Pluto moved into Capricorn a couple of years ago and Uranus, the planet of revolution and change is forcing the breakdown of old and outmoded structures that we’re experiencing at the moment. If structures refuse to change, they break. And they will, they always do at times like these. (I apologise if I’m losing you?)
There have been incidents of challenges between these two energies many times throughout history and, when they’ve happened, monumental changes have happened in society, but the energies have never been stronger than those we are experiencing at the moment. And other planets are joining in – ganging up it seems. We cannot avoid the battle and everyone is being affected. An added ingredient on 21st December is that this date marks the beginning of a ‘YOD’ formation. This is an astrological term for a pattern in the sky. A yod makes the shape of a huge pointing finger and so it is often referred to as, ‘The finger of God’. There is also some significant delusion-inducing Neptunian influence going on that could be dangerous. ***
Could someone buy a huge slab of land please and allow some of us to move there – away from all these idiots whose only reason for living seems to be power, greed and a total disregard of anything or anyone who isn’t functioning within their circle of wealth, beliefs, nationality and religious ‘values’ (the term is used very loosely)? Please sign me up. It could be a kind of reservation for not-necessarily-Indian-blood-but-also-Rainbow-Children place – although I’d be honoured if they wanted to live there with me too. I’d leave everything and move and live simply and in harmony if ‘they’ promised to leave us alone. I honestly would.
As for the initial question, most of the population would answer within the 10s – 20s out of 100 I’d guess. Me, I’d have to realistically be at least a 50. Something is going to give and, anyway, I don’t want to live in the kind of society that pushes disabled people to kill themselves – or one that throws endless money at war mongering at the expense of the welfare of its people – or one that allows child pornography and animal cruelty on its social networking pages – or one that destroys the natural world for profit – or one that allows people to starve from lack of their share of the resources every day. But, for now, I’ll look at my astrology and dream my shamanic dreams and pray that there are enough of us who are nice enough human beings to help the Great Spirit to heal the damage we’ve already done and to move forward, after December 21st, whatever happens, with Love.

***(NB. I’m attempting a lighthearted approach in this article and so have not approached the astrology in depth. My personal feeling is that there will be a series of very challenging crisis as a result of the astrological data surrounding December 21st and, unless they are handled globally in an uncharacteristically humane, fair and sensitive way, we’ll be in trouble. There is heavy and complicated astrological ‘stuff’ here. I believe that the period of time could nevertheless be the birth of positivity. There’s stuff in there that has that kind of huge potential. I will write more soon. – Jaki x)
